Pierpaolo Campanini was born in Cento, Italy, in 1964 where he currently lives and works. His works plays out the complex relationships between 2Dand 3D representations; his assemblage-sculptures being built only in order to be painted. Using an astonishing photorealist technique, Campanini explores the poetic of everyday objects piled up in delicately baroque compositions, surrealistically absurd yet unremittingly compelling.
Pierpaolo Campanini’s lates exhibitions include: Apocalittici E Integrati - Utopia Nell’arte Italiana Di Oggi, MAXXI - Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, Rome, 2007; Etc, Le Consortium, Dijon, France, 2005 and Vernice. Sentieri della giovane pittura italiana, Villa Manin. Centro darte contemporanea, Codroipo (UD), 2004.
He is represented by Corvi-Mora, London and Galleria Francesca Kaufmann, Milan.
